Hi Lylie sorry to hear this about Helen. It does sound very similar to my brother who had similar symptoms and it took a few years before he was diagnosed. He is now under a immuno neurologist i think that's right. He has sarcoid of the brain, and is now doing well on the right treatment.

Dear Lylie
my thoughts are with you and your dear daughter, it must be so scarey for you all.
I know that it is good to have principals but this is serious and I think how your son in law feels should take 2nd place.
I will be thinking of you Lots of love
Love Melanie

dear Lylie,

I am hoping that Helen has managed to get a bit further in her quest for a definitive diagnosis today. It is not easy being Mum who has to sit and wait so sending you lots of warm wishes too.

Thanks everyone.
Helen came home today exhausted and shocked,........................................... she now has a consultant about whom she used expressions like "thoughtful" "caring", "interested", "straight-talking", "decisive" and "professional"................so as you can see, she was NOt impressed with the previous one!.

This man has no ready diagnosis for her. He has ordered more tests (which, he says, WILL be done in the next three weeks), but above all actually discussed how she is, how she is affected, her limitations and her needs to maintain her lifestyle as far as possible.
As she put it "mum, he really wanted to KNOW, he listened, and he answered ALL my questions as honestly as he could, given the fact that as yet I have no known illness" He wants to se her again in six weeks, and is silently outraged that her previous consultant has made NO arrangements to follow up.

Helen is a brave and courageous fighter and likes to be told the truth, and she and her husband BOTH feel confident that they will get this from this new man (a be-turbanned Sikh gentleman in immaculate hand-stitched suit!!)

I just hope and pray he will not let her down, and will be able to help her recover at least some of what she has lost. L xx

Dear Lylie,

Thank God that Helen has at last found someone who is caring, who is willing to listen, and seems prepared to get to the bottom of things in order to help her. Her previous consultant should hang his head in shame.

Hopes and prayers for better things to come,

Kathleen x

At last Lylie!
This must be such a relief to you all that Helen is being listened to , and it sounds as if this consultant will do all in his power to help her.

Praying for a good outcome, and soon!

Love, Doreen xx
